  • Slug glue coming to a body near you

Just when you thought they were useless what do I find out?  A certain slug species called (Arion subfuscus) produces a gel to defend itself and this can chemically convert into a strong glue even on wet surfaces.  Ithaca College in the states is looking into using it as a surgical glue as chemically from a water based gel to a powerful flexible glue.  Apparently copper can act as a catalyst to make it stronger, just when you actually imagined that copper works.
